Fair Isle adventures

This is my second fair isle project, the first was a hat that I made, it ended up way too small for me, so I gave it to a friend's baby (that's how small it was!).

This particular pattern is based off of a scarf that Hermione wears in one of the Harry Potter films, I've already made a version of the hat seen above. I've been coveting this scarf for a while now, and because school is out I have the time to attack the project, and hopefully finish by the time winter comes around.

Interestingly enough, this scarf is knit in the round to create a sort of double fabric, and that way it's reversible. Makes it really thick, almost too thick in my opinion. I'm starting from scratch now to make it into a cowl, I realized after one pattern repeat (with 8 more to go), that I'm not a big fan of long scarf ends, and that cowls are much tidier. So time to start the cowl.

The original pattern called for 72 stitches, I think that either doubling it, or even tripling it will get me a nice wrap-able cowl, a sort of infinity scarf in a way.

Will update as progress continues.
